Doria, is a boy of around 15 whom Meggie falls in love with. She becomes torn between him and Farid, but then Fengolio tells her that he wrote a story which he never finished, about a man named Doria who was an inventor and had a wife who came from a distant land and gave him ideas for things. They both realize that this Doria must be the same person...but how did he get into the Inkworld? Farid wants Meggie to come with him at the end of the book, but Meggie stays with Doria, because she feels she belongs with him.
