Before the Books...[]

Resa is the wife of Mo Folchart and the mother of Meggie. She also has an unnamed son at the end of Inkdeath. She is very close with her family.

Ten years before Inkheart, Mo accidentally read her into the book. He spent those ten years frantically searching for a copy of it. Unbeknownst to him, Capricorn has been taking the books and burning them because he doesn't want to go back. Unknown to Mo she was read back by Darius making her mute and forced to work as a maid in Capicron's village. She spent some of her time while in the book working as a scribe but was found out as a girl and was forced to be Mortola's slave.

History[]

Inkheart[]

During Inkheart, Resa is mostly working as a slave in Capricorn's village while helping Dustfinger with things and being hit on by Basta. She helps Dustfinger look for Inkheart but is caught and sentenced to die. She is then locked up in a crypt where she sees her daughter Meggie for the first time in ten years. She is then put into a cage that will be fed to the shadow with her aunt Elinor. She is then saved by Meggie and Mo and goes to live in Elinor's house.

Inkspell[]

During Inkspell, until she's read back into the Inkworld perfectly by Orpheus, she's mute, but regains her voice just before Mo, Mortimer Folchart, gets shot by Mortola, Resa's mistress while she had been in the Inkworld.

Inkdeath[]

In Inkdeath, not only does Resa discover that she's pregnant with her second child, but now she longs for a return to Earth. In her longing, she ends up making a deal with Orpheus, who thinks he read himself into the Inkworld, although all the readers know it was really Meggie Folchart, saying that Mo, or the Bluejay as he's become, will summon the White Woman so Orpheus can ask them about Death and they end up taking Mo with them as a result.
